Extracurricular activities at BC Christian Academy are various activities performed by BCCA students both in elementary and high school that are outside the traditional class time.

They can include arts, athletics, clubs, volunteering, job shadowing or internship, and other pursuits that our students can actively and productively engage in. Student involvement in after school clubs and extracurricular activities is seen as beneficial in many ways as it helps offer a place to create friendships and foster learning, as well as a safe environment for our students while helping them improve their educational or athletic abilities. Generally, involvement in activities, whether it be sports, clubs, or school-based programs, help make a positive impact on our students’ well-being. Some of the Extracurricular activities currently offered at BCCA are:

  • Student Council
  • Athletics
  • Music
  • Arts & Drama
  • Multimedia
  • Yearbook
  • Culture Club
  • Youth Alpha
  • Homework Club
  • Volunteering and Community Outreach activities

Youth Alpha

BCCA believes in training its students to proclaim the gospel and make disciples. One program we used for the first time the past 2019-2020 school year was Youth Alpha. Students met once a week to share a meal, watch a video about an aspect of Christianity, and pray and discuss in small groups. There were around twelve small group leaders who met weekly to pray and plan the events, along with two head leaders–Sydney Harris and Josiah Domingo–who led overall. We praise God for what He did through this program and through the efforts of the Christian student leaders to reach their friends for Jesus. I think one of the biggest fruits was to see the student leaders grow in passion for the gospel and in commitment to reach their friends even at a Christian school. Soli Deo Gloria! To God alone the glory be!”

Homework Club

Because we know how very busy everyone is, we know that the last thing you want at the end of your weekdays is to be wrestling with your son or daughter over the homework which they still haven’t done after dinner.

Therefore, as a service to you and your children, BC Christian Academy provides your Grade 4 through Grade 7 student(s) with free after-school tutoring from one of our Intermediate teachers. From 3:15 – 4:00pm Monday through Thursday, we provide a teacher to help anyone who may need help with their schoolwork and/or just have a quiet classroom in which to get their work completed.

If you would like your child(ren) to benefit from this service, all s/he has to do is show up at the designated classroom (see or call the office for schedule of classrooms and teacher designated for each day of the week)! No sign-up or registration is required.

We hope this will provide you with more time to do the things you enjoy doing with your children, while alleviating the tension and stress of getting them to do their homework.
