A Welcome Message From Our Head of School, Ian Jarvie

“I had the privilege of “growing up” with BC Christian Academy for all but one of the 30 years and have had the privilege of witnessing God shaping and molding the school for His purposes.   God orchestrated the details for our school to purchase the 1019 Fernwood Ave, Port Coquitlam 9.6-acre site in 2020, after leasing the facility for 10 years, our 5th stop in our 30-year history.  We believe that God is calling us to take the next, very large, step of faith to carry out the Kingdom Work that God has called us to, which will serve many generations to come and allow us to have more seats available to educate many wonderful children from a Biblical worldview.  What a blessing and joy to be able to do this!”

High Academic standards as evidenced by close to 100% Graduation Rate
90% of graduates go to Post-Secondary and are welcomed at renowned Canadian universities and top universities around the world
Enriched and unified curriculum rooted in the core discipline and solid Christian principles
AP Courses, a wide variety of Electives, and Extracurricular activities are available

Our MISSION is “To assist the family by providing a Christ-centered, Bible-based education that inspires each student to pursue excellence in moral character, spiritual growth, academics, fine arts, physical fitness, and service to others.”

Vision

“Equipping students to impact the world for Jesus.”

Theme Verse

“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” – Romans 12:1-2

Our 3 C’s

What a blessing it is to be part of the body of Christ! At BC Christian Academy our motto comes from our 3 “C”s: Christ, Community, and Compassion. These are the key values that make BCCA unique and what guide us in keeping our mission alive and in pursuing our vision for the future.

Our dedication to strong academic excellence, uncompromising Christian and moral values, and a caring community built on compassion help and support our students to fulfill their potential and positively impact the world for Jesus.

Christ

1 Corinthians 10:31: “So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”

Myth

Christ is not relevant in education.

Truth

BCCA lays the strong Biblical foundation that our students need to live out their faith amid a confusing culture and an uncertain future dominated by different world views.

Needs

Mentorship programs for young people; funding to access current Christian resources and programs to support the consistent building of Christ-like character among our students.

Community

Galatians 6:2 “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”

Myth

An Independent Christian school is exclusive and selective.

Truth

BCCA has a diverse yet tight-knit community of students and families from different regions and backgrounds.

Needs

Access to resources that promote diversity; increased support for student programs that encourage diversity involvement on campus.

Compassion

Matthew 25:40: “Whatever you have done for the least of these brothers of mine you have done for me.”

Myth

The cost of sending your children to a faith-based school is too expensive.

Fact

BCCA has an existing tuition support program to assist and enable families that otherwise could not afford the tuition cost of sending their children to an independent school.

Needs

Donors to help support the school’s financial aid programs, various learning resource, s and vision for the future learning campus.

Accreditation

The Federation of Independent School Associations in British Columbia (FISA BC) is an umbrella organization of independent school associations formed in British Columbia. FISA BC was founded in 1966 when a diverse group of independent schools indicated that, “providing each of our schools could maintain its independence, there could be definite value in the formation of an affiliation among our schools which could promote common purposes” (Cunningham, 2002, p. 61).

The Association of Christian Schools International in British Columbia (ACSIBC) represents approximately 30 evangelical Christian schools with a commitment to instilling knowledge, wisdom, and a biblical worldview in students trained to love God and contribute to the public good.
