Pastor Appreciation Day 2021

Our Pastor Appreciation Day was definitely a day to remember not only for all 42 guest pastors & ministry partners but also for our staff and parent volunteers. It is worth mentioning that our attendees did not only come from Tri-Cities but from other churches in the Lower Mainland. We have guests from Abbotsford, North Vancouver, Burnaby, Richmond, and North Delta. The presence of God filled our gym as His shepherds came to meet and fellowship with one another. The overflowing food that you, parents, have generously and graciously provided has delighted them greatly. The bounty of leftovers has also blessed our teachers, staff, and volunteers. The prayer of our Grade 4 student Noa Angelova and the words of appreciation from our Principals and Executive Director have blessed our pastors. This year’s special message entitled “Elijah Moments” delivered by our very own Music Specialist and Pastor Darryl Penner (yes he is a pastor and helped plant 6 churches) did not only resonate in the hearts of our church leaders but strongly encouraged them. The music performances of the HS Jazz and Worship Band and the Grade 4s’ heartwarming rendition of “You Are My Vision” by Rend Collective melted the hearts of our pastors. Finally, the video interviews of our students, teachers, and staff on how their pastor or church is a blessing for them even moved some of them to tears.

Before leading the closing prayer, Pastor Tim Young of Village Church in Coquitlam (unexpectedly) called all the staff to recognize and applaud them for their labour and partnership in God’s kingdom work. He said that it is only fitting to appreciate the work that we do here at BC Christian Academy.

Around noon, our 40 guest-pastors left our school… each holding a lovely gift basket, with a tummy filled with all the delicious food you gave, and a heart full of love and appreciation from our BCCA community!

As you (parent volunteers) joyfully served as cooks, kitchen helpers, set up and tear down crew, servers, gift basket maker, dishwashers, and prayer partners, please know that we are grateful for you. Indeed you have reflected the 3 C’s which are Christ, Community, and Compassion. This year’s Pastor Appreciation Day would have not been possible without you.

Once again, thank you for your gracious prayers. contribution and kind support.
